Sometimes a business analyst can be so caught up in a project she forgets tried and true methods do not always work. Team analysis tries to do what the customer has scoped out and made a plan of action. The action plan requires certain fundamentals. There are times when the basic ideas just do not work for the client. the client can not understand why these steps may be very important. This is when business analysts need to step back and ask the same questions as the client. It’s all in the communication.
Professional business analysts must understand the project’s success is not just about the documentation requirements on how the requirements are addressed. The business analyst is a liaison between the client and the IT act. documentation may be required for the IT team to do their job. certain clarification may be needed for everyone to understand what is required. However, clients may not understand the documentation or do not need it to begin with. communication skills are what is required.
Business analysts can get further and move faster with just a simple meeting to explain the methods and procedures used. Clients can ask questions and business analysts can explain. The case studies and other documentation will not in any way guarantee the client’s progress. There are people who need to hear because they may look good on paper, but how is it supposed to work? A good business analyst can explain the ins and outs of what was going on. Clients can sign off. work can continue. The goal is being met.
This is where the business analyst must be flexible. Just because he has done this thousand of times with other clients do not mean this client is like another thousand. A business analyst’s job is to determine what the client wants. Documents can be a burden for the client. Business analysts must understand how information is delivered. He should be flexible enough to deliver what customers ask for. Business analysts have to make sure the client comfortable with how information is delivered. Not vice versa.
There will be a business analyst must learn to be flexible when it comes to dealing with information. Not everybody can do the job of a business analyst. This is why he was hired in the first place. However, there may be no documentation for certain things the analyst usually made to know the secret. Business analysts must be flexible in knowing how to work around this barrier. He must know how to gather the information needed to perform the task. Flexibility is very useful at this point. A business analyst may have to do what he can at the moment and wait for the statistics to be collected. Instead of getting a short written statement from the team, the analyst may have to interview each member to gather what he needs.
The key is to work within the confines of the client. Do what the client feels comfortable with. Business analysts may be uncomfortable. Being flexible in any situation will do away with this anxiety. The task at hand can be achieved.
